hyperloop transport system

HTS or Hyperloop Transportation system is a proposed mode of passenger and freight transportation that propels a pod-like vehicle through a near-vacuum tube at airline speeds. The pods accelerate to cruising speed gradually using a linear electric motor and glide above their track using passive magnetic levitation or air bearings. The tubes can go above ground on columns or underground, eliminating the dangers of grade crossings. It is hoped that the system will be highly energy-efficient, quiet and autonomous.

With the speed of 1216km/hour it can cover the distance of London to Paris within 40 minutes. And the fascinating fact about this HTS is that it relies completely on renewable energies like solar and wind to generate surplus energy.

Indian gov’t has already  invited the company HTT(Hyperloop Transportation hyperloop-indiaTechnologies, Inc.) to test their prototype in India, making India the first to put the concept to test outside of USA. HTT are also in process to sign a Letter of Intent(LoI) with the Indian Government for a proposed route between Chennai and Bengaluru. If things goes well, the distance of 345 km could be covered in 30 minutes.

This would also lead to significantly lower construction and operation costs compared with any other mass transportation system already in use. HTS service could see a capsule reaching a station every seven minutes, and a charge for travelling a distance of 500 Km could be less than Rs 2,000 or £25 .
