ISRO is developing Hyper Spectral Imaging Satellite.

Indian Space Research Organization is planning to launch another Earth Observation satellite call HySIS or Hyperspectral Imaging Satellite. ISRO has developed a critical chip called Optical Imaging Detection Array. It has been testing the chip. Once perfected it will launch the satellite. Launch date has not been finalised yet. Hyperspectral Imaging has been a trend for a while now and most of the space faring nations are working on it now. ISRO has developed the tech according to Indian requirements. And after the launch ISRO will be able to see 55 spectral or colour bands from 600 km above....

Another mega launch. India to launch 31 satellites on 22nd June.

On Friday 22nd June , 2017 . India will launch its Earth Observation Satellite Cartosat-2 and 30 other nano satellites mostly foreign made at 9:29 am from Launch pad 1 at SriHarikota Space port . This will be ISRO’s workhorse PSLV‘s 40th flight also. Out of 30 Nano satellites 29 of them are from foreign countries,  Austria, Belgium, Chile, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, the UK and the US. The other Nano satellite is from India, Students of Noorul Islam University made this satellite. All Satellites including Cartosat-2 will be placed in to the 505 Km Sun...

1001 days in orbit and counting.

June 19,2017 . Mars Orbiter Mission or affectionately known as MOM, India’s first interplanetary Mission has completed 1000 Earth days or 973.24 Martian Solar days in Martian orbit. So far it has completed 388 orbits. Initially mission life was expected to be only 180 days but as of today it has finished 1000 days in the orbit and scientists are expecting that the spacecraft will be operational and orbit Mars for another 5 years as it is in a very good condition and it has got about 13 kg of fuel left.
